Hemming 101
$125.00
Save money. Build confidence. Learn a skill you’ll use for life.
How many pieces of clothing are sitting in your closet because they’re just a little too long?
Hemming is one of the most valuable sewing skills you can learn because you’ll use it again and again—for yourself, your family, and future projects. Instead of paying for every simple alteration, learn how to hem your own clothing with confidence.
Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or simply want to learn practical alteration skills, this private lesson will teach you one of the most useful sewing techniques you can have.
Bring one or two garments from your closet, and we’ll work on them together so you leave with clothing you’ll actually wear.
During this private 3-hour lesson, you’ll learn how to:
- Hem pants, skirts, dresses, and sleeves
- Choose between hand hemming and machine hemming
- Measure, pin, and mark hems correctly
- Create clean, polished finishes
- Select the best hemming technique for different fabrics
- Complete a hem on your own garment during class
All tools and supplies are included. Just bring the garments you’d like to work on.
Studio Location: Lessons are held in my cozy North Bergen studio, just minutes from James J. Braddock Park. The exact address is sent after your booking is confirmed. Street parking is available.
Cancellation Policy: You may cancel or reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice. Because each lesson is reserved just for you, cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable.
