General
Nope! Everything you need is provided. If you’d like to learn on your own machine, feel free to bring it along.
It varies by workshop, but you’ll complete a beginner-friendly project designed to help you practice the skills you’ve learned — and you’ll take it home with you at the end of class.
All lessons are held in my studio in North Bergen, NJ, just minutes from James J. Braddock Park. The exact address is shared after booking.
Yes! Adult classes are available to ages 13 and up.
Private Sewing Lessons
If you’ve never used a sewing machine before, I recommend starting with Sewing Machine Basics. If you’re already comfortable threading your machine and sewing straight stitches — or you’ve taken Sewing Machine Basics before — a Private Sewing Lesson is the perfect next step.
Almost anything! We can work on garments, home décor, pattern reading, zippers, hemming, sleeves, troubleshooting a project, or developing new sewing skills. Every lesson is customized to your goals.
Absolutely! Many students return to build new skills, complete larger projects, or receive ongoing one-on-one support. You’re welcome to book individual lessons whenever you’d like, or save by purchasing a discounted lesson package.
Not necessarily — but I highly recommend it if you’ve never used a sewing machine before. Sewing Machine Basics teaches you how to confidently use your machine, so when you arrive for Hemming 101, we can spend more time mastering hemming techniques instead of learning the machine from scratch. If your goal is simply to hem a few items, you’re absolutely welcome to start here — I’ll teach you everything you need to complete your project.
Each Hemming 101 lesson is 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to learn both hand and machine hemming techniques, complete one or more garments (depending on the project), and build the confidence to hem your own clothes at home.
Bring 1–2 garments you’d like to hem, such as pants, jeans, dresses, skirts, or tops with sleeves that need shortening. Everything else is provided.
Hemming is a type of alteration that shortens the length of a garment, such as pants, sleeves, skirts, or dresses. Alterations are broader and can include taking in the waist, adjusting fit, replacing zippers, reshaping garments, and other more advanced modifications. If you’re looking to learn how to shorten clothing, Hemming 101 is the perfect place to start.
No. This is a hands-on sewing lesson — not a drop-off tailoring service. You’ll complete the hemming yourself while learning a skill you’ll use for years to come.
Hemming 101 is designed for adults and teens ages 13 and up. Whether you’re brand new to sewing or simply want to learn how to hem your own clothes, this class is a great place to start.
Each session is 60 minutes. If you’d rather spend longer working on larger projects, your six sessions can also be scheduled as three 2-hour lessons.
Yes! Many students choose the Mentorship Package to prepare for fashion school applications. We’ll create projects that develop both technical skills and portfolio-quality work.
Private lessons are perfect when you need help with one project or want to learn a specific skill. The Mentorship Package is designed for long-term growth, structured learning, and ongoing support between lessons.
No. Your sessions are scheduled individually based on our availability. This gives you flexibility while keeping you on track toward your sewing goals. All sessions must be completed within six months of purchase.

Sewing Parties
Not at all. Sewing Parties are designed specifically for beginners, and I guide everyone through every step of the process.
Nope! Everything you need is provided. If you’d like to learn on your own machine, feel free to bring it along.
Most parties accommodate between 4–8 guests, depending on the project and location. Larger groups may be available upon request.
Most events last 3–4 hours, depending on your selected project and group size. This does not include setup and breakdown, which is an hour before and after.
Parties may be hosted in my North Bergen home studio or at your location within 15 miles of North Bergen. A flat $50 mobile party fee applies when I travel to your home, event space, or venue. The exact home-studio address is shared after your event is officially confirmed.
Select your preferred party date, complete the inquiry details, and submit the $100 party deposit. I’ll review your request and contact you within 1–2 business days to confirm availability, discuss your project options, and provide your customized quote. Your party is not officially confirmed until you receive written confirmation from Cafecito con Fashion.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required when submitting your preferred Sewing Party date. Your deposit will be applied toward the final party balance. After reviewing your group size, project, location, and event details, I’ll send you a customized quote showing the remaining balance and payment deadline.
Your requested date is not officially confirmed until you receive written confirmation from Veronica at veronica@cafecitoconfashion.com.
Your final party total is customized based on the number of guests, project, location, and event details.
