¡Bienvenida a Un Cafecito con Fashion! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog—I’m beyond excited to have you here! This space is for the passionate and unstoppable fashionista who ignored all of abuelita’s advice against pursuing a career in fashion but feels an undeniable calling to follow their dreams.
A little bit about me

meet Veronica
I was born and raised in Hudson County, New Jersey, just outside of New York City. Growing up in this vibrant urban center, I was always surrounded by the flavors of my favorite Latin countries, with delicious antojitos just five minutes away. The iconic NYC skyline served as the perfect backdrop to my daily life—it truly felt like the best of both worlds. The only challenge was that, despite being part of a community full of crafters and artisans, I didn’t have any connections or guidance from someone in the fashion industry who could help me take the first step.
After a lot of determination and hard work, I turned my dream of becoming a fashion designer into reality. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology, specializing in Intimate Apparel (the world of fajas) with a minor in Art History. Drawing inspiration from my Latin heritage, my personal style reflects vibrant colors, bold prints, and unique details that celebrate body inclusivity and cultural roots.

Why I started this blog
“Many Latinos lack access to mentorship networks and career-advancement programs that are essential for success in the fashion industry” (Alexander, 2023). I can definitely relate to this quote, as the industry is unfortunately cutthroat, and without someone helping you get ahead, it’s easy to get stuck. But it doesn’t have to be that way. As a Latina, my goal is to help fellow fashionistas navigate their own journeys, despite the challenges we may face. I want to use this platform to give back to the community by sharing my experiences, lessons learned, and offering guidance. Through this, I hope to support you every step of the way and help change the statistics like the one mentioned above. Ultimately, my dream is to create a community where we can all connect, learn, empower one another, and grow together.
